$> Data explains the past.

$> Research questions the present.

$> Insight shapes the future.

I’m Isaac Jovel, a data analyst and advanced student of economics and computer science. I migrated to learn, grow, and demonstrate that rigorous analysis, critical thinking, and creativity can coexist. My work stems from a conviction: data has power, but only if it tells stories that matter.

My approach combines quantitative techniques, critical thinking, and reproducible analytical methodologies to transform information into strategic decisions: decisions that generate economic, social, and environmental impact with responsibility and clarity.

// About Me

// Evidence isn’t the end — it’s the beginning of better questions.

Data is the tool. Understanding is the goal.

My name is Isaac Jovel. I was born in Costa Rica, I’m a data analyst and an advanced student of economics and computer engineering. Now based in Ireland, I’m pursuing new challenges that demand growth, responsibility, and a broader understanding of how data drives decisions across cultures and systems.

What defines my work is the conviction that data is more than numbers — it’s context, behavior, and consequences. I combine quantitative analysis, research methodologies, and critical thinking to explore economic, social, and environmental questions through evidence and narrative.

I’m not looking to build dashboards that look impressive but reveal nothing.
I’m focused on insight — on asking better questions — and in transforming information into decisions that generate clarity, accountability, and impact.

Learning is not a phase in my life — it’s a discipline. Continuing education, research, and experimentation are not checkboxes for me; they’re part of a mindset that rejects intellectual stagnation and embraces adaptation in a world that constantly evolves.

My goal is simple but demanding:
to make data understandable, ethical, and useful, so individuals, teams, and institutions can make decisions that improve the systems we live in — not only the outcomes we measure.

// Evidence-driven analysis to solve real problems through data, research, and strategic thinking.

Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)

Cleaning, transforming, and uncovering hidden patterns within datasets through rigorous exploratory analysis.
I combine analytical precision with data storytelling to translate complex structures into insights that are clear, meaningful, and actionable.

Predictive Modeling & Time Series

Development of statistical and machine learning models — including ARIMA, ARMA, VAR, regression methods, and forecasting techniques — to analyze temporal behavior, evaluate trends, and predict future outcomes with methodological rigor.

Environmental & Social Data Research

Analysis of environmental and socio-economic datasets to identify patterns, risks, and long-term dynamics.
I evaluate sustainability indicators and systemic interactions to support responsible, evidence-based decision-making.

Data Analyst - Sagicor (Insurance Sector)
Mar 2024 - Oct 2025

I worked as a Data Analyst in the insurance sector, transforming operational and commercial data into insights that improved decision-making and product strategy. My role involved cleaning and structuring large datasets, building automated reporting systems, and identifying behavioral patterns in customer claims, sales, and risk profiles.

I also implemented analytical models to support pricing strategies, performance evaluation, and portfolio monitoring, ensuring that different departments could make data-driven decisions with clarity and consistency.

Key skills:
✔ Data cleaning & preprocessing
✔ Automated dashboards (Power BI, R, Excel + VBA)
✔ Customer & sales analytics
✔ Operational performance metrics
✔ Storytelling for management decisions

Data Analyst
Statistical design and analysis of results. - National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Government)
2022-Mar 2024

I contributed to the statistical design, validation, and analysis of national indicators used for public policy and international reporting. My work focused on survey methodology, data quality assessment, and the production of socioeconomic indicators with strict methodological consistency.

A key part of my role involved supporting the construction, verification, and analysis of IPConS indicators, ensuring accurate measurement of sectoral price dynamics and cost variations. I collaborated closely with teams responsible for national accounts, price statistics, and methodological updates aligned with OECD statistical standards.

Key skills:
✔ Survey design & statistical methodology
✔ IPConS indicator construction and validation
✔ Price statistics, economic indicators & national accounts insights
✔ OECD standards alignment & methodological harmonization
✔ Data quality assurance & reproducible analysis
✔ Technical report writing for institutional and international audiences
